Welcome To The Munsel School Project

High in the mountains of Nangchen region of Western Kham are small villages of nomadic yak herders and subsistance farmers. Leaders and parents of 4 villages approached the founder of this project, Ven. Khenpo Gawang, to build a school for their children. Permission and support has been given by the government, regional and local officials. Land has been found and a building plan is being developed by the local project manager.

Foodaid.Compassion has been active in the development of this project since January 2006. We will work with the staff of Munsel School Project to provide accountability for donors, support for the project manager, assist in securing grants and developing partnerships with other non-profits working in the area and monitor the project. Under an earlier grant, we will provide the website to keep donors and interested people informed of the school's progress.
